Uhane knits preview

I wanted to created something totally different for the summer & this design I think is my favorite. My new skull clutch is hand knit in a beautiful black cotton yarn with a elegant sheen. The 4 finger ring frame is a definite show stopper. What I love most, its actually 3 looks in 1. Its a clutch, handbag and the chain strap for a shoulder bag.
I have worn this bag everywhere over the last few days (even the supermarket) & literally every place I went someone asked me about this bag.

What’s New for Uhaneknits

Working hard to bring new designs to Uhane knits for the summer. Im having a ball trying out new yarns and patterns. My love for wool haven’t wavered but I absolutely have fell in love with 100%Bamboo yarn. It’s elegant sheen and beautiful texture has been a joy to work with. I’ve also been working with mercerized cotton and my old favorite nylon yarn (that I have faithfully used as an accent to my handbags or for my accessory belts).
I am stepping out of my box & I’m very excited to show a sneak peak very soon.
We will be listing he locations to our vending dates where you will be able to see Uhane knits up close and personal.
Until next time….

Company with a conscious

“Be Sweet” is a nice company I found selling beautiful yarns and accessories.
I needed this particular yarn for a new design. I decided to tried their 100% bamboo yarn. It’s the softest yarn I’ve ever felt and you can’t imagine it is made from something as strong and hard as Bamboo.
The cool thing about Be sweet “bamboo” is the yarn was hand dyed by women in South Africa under a jobs creation program. These programs provides the opportunity for women to earn a living within their struggling communities. Be Sweet also donates a portion of their profits to educational development programs in South Africa.
I purchased Be sweet yarn from another online store called One Planet yarns & fibers. They also have a wonderful global consciousness, stating “One of our goals is to represent small independent artisans and companies from every corner of the globe”.
Both these companies have wonderful products and is worth taking a look at. I like that they choose to work with programs that pays the artisan and they express their appreciation for a global market place.
